Update: Child in Eldoret Medical Dispensing Error Recovering Well
An update has emerged regarding the recent medical dispensing error involving a pharmacist in Eldoret, clarifying the child’s current condition.
It has now been confirmed that the child is safe, out of danger, and recovering well at home. The child was treated as an outpatient and did not require hospital admission. Medical assessment further established that only one eye — not both eyes as earlier alleged — was affected. The condition has since significantly improved following treatment.
Reports circulating on social media claiming that the child is blind have been confirmed to be false.
The pharmacist involved in the incident reportedly acknowledged the dispensing error and issued an apology. However, concerns have been raised that the matter was exaggerated online, with some individuals allegedly using social media platforms to blackmail the pharmacist and damage the reputation of the business.
Authorities have not reported any life-threatening complications, and the situation appears to have been resolved medically.
Further updates will be provided should new verified information emerge.
