Water Tanks Distributed to Schools and Institutions in Kiambu County

 Several schools and institutions across Kiambu County are set to benefit from a water tank distribution initiative aimed at improving access to clean and reliable water.

The program, which targets learning institutions and community facilities, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen education infrastructure and improve sanitation standards within the county.

Among the institutions earmarked to receive the water tanks are Kiambu Township Secondary School, ACK St. Joseph Riabai Secondary School, Loreto Primary School, Kiu River Primary School, Machiri Primary School in Ting’ang’a, The Patmos House Church in Juja Farm, and Komothai Marige Polytechnic.

Local leaders said the initiative seeks to address water challenges that often affect learning environments, particularly during dry periods when many institutions struggle to maintain adequate water supply for students and staff.

“Access to clean and reliable water is not a luxury — it is a necessity. It safeguards dignity, promotes hygiene, and creates a conducive learning environment for our children,” a county official said during the announcement.

Education stakeholders have welcomed the move, noting that reliable water supply plays a key role in improving hygiene, supporting school feeding programs, and maintaining overall student well-being.

The distribution also reflects the county’s broader commitment to strengthening community infrastructure, including support for schools, faith-based institutions, and vocational training centers.

Officials noted that investments in such infrastructure are essential in shaping the future of the county’s young people and empowering communities through improved learning environments and skills development.
