Veteran Journalist David Makali Honoured with Freedom Warrior Award for Outstanding Contribution to Press Freedom

Veteran journalist David Makali has been celebrated for his decades-long dedication to press freedom, receiving the prestigious Freedom Warrior Award from the Kenya Editors Guild (KEG). 

The award, which recognises journalists who demonstrate extraordinary courage in the face of intimidation, censorship, threats, or violence, was collected on his behalf by his son, John Makali, at their home in Bungoma County honoured during the 8th Annual Editors Convention held in Kilifi Countyements David Makali’s legacy as a stalwart defender of press freedom, inspiring a new generation of journalists to pursue truth and accountability without fear.
