Rift Valley Technical Training Institute Staff Undergo Comprehensive Training on ISO Documentation and Review

Staff at Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) recently participated in an intensive capacity building training on ISO documentation and review, a program designed to enhance professional competence, strengthen quality management systems, and promote institutional excellence.

The training, which brought together staff from multiple departments, focused on equipping participants with practical skills in proper documentation, internal auditing, compliance requirements, and risk-based thinking. By applying these skills, employees are now better prepared to ensure that the institute’s operations are in line with international standards and best practices.

According to the organizers, the session provided hands-on guidance on creating and maintaining accurate documentation, conducting internal reviews, identifying gaps, and implementing corrective actions. Participants were also trained on how to analyze risks proactively, an approach aimed at minimizing operational disruptions and promoting continuous improvement across all institutional processes.

“This training is a significant step in strengthening the professional capacity of our staff,” said a senior instructor involved in the program. “Staff now have the tools to make informed decisions, improve workflows, maintain consistent records, and actively contribute to initiatives that enhance the overall quality of services at RVTTI.”

Madam Loice Kutoh, OGW, Chief Principal of RVTTI, lauded the training and underscored its importance in building a culture of accountability, efficiency, and quality service delivery within the institute. She highlighted that investing in human capital is key to achieving institutional objectives and sustaining high standards of education and technical training.

“Capacity building is not just about acquiring new skills; it is about empowering our staff to perform at their best, think critically, and embrace continual improvement in every aspect of their work,” Madam Kutoh said. “We are committed to providing opportunities that equip our employees with the knowledge and confidence to implement internationally recognized quality management practices.”

Participants noted that the training had broadened their understanding of ISO standards and their practical application in daily operations. Many reported that they now feel more confident in performing internal audits, maintaining precise records, and supporting the institute’s ongoing efforts to achieve compliance with global quality standards.

The program is part of RVTTI’s broader strategy to promote professional development and institutional excellence, ensuring that staff remain competent, motivated, and capable of meeting evolving educational and operational demands. By strengthening internal systems and improving staff capacity, the institute aims to set a benchmark for quality technical training in the region.

“This initiative reinforces our commitment to continuous learning and improvement,” said Madam Kutoh. “It reflects RVTTI’s dedication to building a workforce that is not only skilled but also aligned with the principles of accountability, efficiency, and service excellence.”
