Nation Mourns as Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno Dies in Helicopter Crash

Kenya is in mourning following the tragic death of Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament, Johana Ng’eno, who perished in a helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County.

President William Ruto expressed profound shock and deep sadness at the news of the legislator’s passing, describing him as a progressive and devoted servant of the people.

“I have received with profound shock and deep sadness the news this evening of the passing of Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament, Mheshimiwa Johana Ng’eno,” the President said in a statement.

Ruto eulogized the late MP as a focused, vocal, and fearless leader who stood firmly for justice and equity. He noted that Ng’eno worked tirelessly on behalf of the residents of Emurua Dikirr in Narok County and would be remembered for the tangible development achieved under his leadership. The President also praised his commitment to nurturing local talent, particularly in music.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his friends, the people of Emurua Dikirr, and all the victims and families affected by the helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County,” Ruto added.

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula also conveyed his condolences, saying he was deeply devastated by the sudden loss.

“On behalf of the Parliamentary Service Commission, the National Assembly and on my own behalf, I convey our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and the people of Emurua Dikirr on this untimely loss that has robbed the nation of an astute leader,” Wetang’ula said.
