Kiambu Woman Rep Ann Wamuratha Empowers Residents with NGAAF Support in Ngewa Ward

In a show of grassroots leadership, Kiambu Woman Representative Ann Wamuratha has empowered residents of Ngewa Ward, Githunguri Constituency, with a range of livelihood tools under the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).

The initiative targeted women, youth, persons with disabilities, and local hustlers, providing practical equipment aimed at improving incomes, creating dignity, and enhancing safety.

Speaking at the event, Wamuratha emphasized that the programme focuses on empowerment felt at the household level, not just discussed in rallies. “This is the bottom-up agenda in action,” she said, noting that the support is intended to help residents start or grow small businesses and improve their daily lives.

Items distributed included:

  • 2 tents with 100 chairs each

  • Car wash machine

  • Blowdryers, shaving machines, and UV machines

  • Chafing dishes, juice extractors, and chips fryers

  • Market and boda-boda umbrellas

  • Helmets for boda-boda riders

  • White canes for the visually impaired

  • Blankets for the elderly and food for all attendees

Residents welcomed the support, expressing optimism that the equipment would help them generate income and strengthen household economies.

Wamuratha reaffirmed her commitment to accountable leadership and development that reaches the people, promising continued delivery of resources and opportunities through NGAAF and other county initiatives.
