Bahati MP Irene Njoki Launches Bursary Cheques for Pioneer Grade 10 Students
The Member of Parliament for Bahati, Irene Njoki, popularly known as Mrembo na Kazi, has officially launched the disbursement of bursary cheques for Pioneer Grade 10 students, marking a significant step towards achieving 100 per cent transition to senior school within the constituency.
The bursary programme is part of a broader education support agenda aimed at easing the financial burden on families while ensuring that no learner is left behind in the transition to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) senior school phase.
Speaking during the launch, the MP reaffirmed her commitment to education as a key pillar of socio-economic transformation in Bahati, noting that the initiative is designed to support learners at a critical stage of their academic journey.
She further announced that bursary cheques for university students, Form Three and Form Four learners, as well as those in tertiary institutions, will be released in the coming days as part of a phased and structured disbursement plan.
Njoki emphasised that the bursary allocation process is guided by transparency, fairness and accountability to ensure equitable distribution of public resources across all wards in Bahati Constituency.
The lawmaker reiterated her grassroots-focused leadership approach, stating that investing in education remains central to empowering families, improving academic retention and building a more skilled and competitive generation.
The bursary rollout is expected to benefit hundreds of students across the constituency, reinforcing ongoing efforts to enhance access to education and support learner progression under the government’s education reforms.
