TENP Explains Modular Eligibility Requirements Ahead of Students’ Polls

The Dean of Students at The Eldoret National Polytechnic, Ruben Chemitei, has clarified the eligibility requirements for students seeking elective positions under the TVET CDACC system.

According to the dean, students undertaking TVET CDACC programmes are required to have attained a minimum of five competencies in the units they are currently undertaking to qualify as aspirants. He noted, however, that this requirement does not apply uniformly across all training models.

Chemitei explained that students enrolled under the modular system are assessed differently, as they take fewer units compared to those in the regular CDACC programmes.

“The modular group has fewer units; therefore, it will not be the same case,” said Chemitei.

He added that in such cases, the institution will rely on the current academic results of the aspirant when determining eligibility.

The clarification comes amid heightened interest in the upcoming students’ elections, as the administration seeks to ensure fairness while accommodating the different training structures within the institution.
