Namawanga Girls High School Soars to Historic KCSE Heights
Namawanga Girls High School in Bungoma County has made history after posting an exceptional performance in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations. The school recorded a strong mean score of 6.90 and will send a remarkable 234 candidates for direct university entry , a milestone that has never been achieved since the school’s inception under the 8-4-4 system.
To put the achievement in perspective, in 2024, the school sent only 130 students directly to university. The leap to 234 candidates this year is a clear demonstration of the school’s rising academic stature and a record-breaking performance that has sparked celebrations across the Bungoma education community.
Principal Jane Owuor attributed the success to teamwork, discipline, and close cooperation with the Board of Management. Speaking amid jubilation at the school, she noted that the achievement is the product of a united effort by teachers, students, parents, and the board.
“This is a historic moment for Namawanga Girls,” said Ms Owuor. “It shows that when everyone works together, teachers who are committed, students who are focused, and a supportive Board of Management , excellence becomes inevitable.”
