Marakwet West MP Timothy Toroitich Registers as UDA Aspirant for 2027 Elections

Marakwet West Member of Parliament Timothy Kiprotich Toroitich has formally registered as an aspirant to vie for the Marakwet West parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

The registration marks a significant political shift for the legislator, who was elected to Parliament in the 2022 General Election on an independent ticket.

Speaking after completing the registration process, Toroitich said his decision to seek re-election under the UDA party was informed by the need to align his leadership with the government’s development agenda and to strengthen service delivery to the people of Marakwet West.

The MP noted that his focus remains on advancing development, education, infrastructure, and economic empowerment in the constituency, adding that party affiliation would enhance collaboration with both the national government and fellow leaders.

Political analysts say Toroitich’s move to UDA reflects the evolving political landscape ahead of the 2027 polls, with incumbent leaders positioning themselves strategically within major political formations.

Toroitich has represented Marakwet West since 2022 and has been actively involved in constituency development initiatives, particularly in education support, youth empowerment, and community-based programs.

The 2027 General Election is expected to draw heightened political activity across Elgeyo Marakwet County as leaders declare their intentions and consolidate support.
