Marakwet West MP Attends Consultative Meeting on Development and Security

Marakwet West Member of Parliament Timothy Toroitich on Friday evening joined leaders from Elgeyo Marakwet County for a consultative meeting aimed at strengthening development initiatives, enhancing security, and addressing the rising challenge of drugs and illicit alcohol.

The meeting brought together elected leaders and local administrators who exchanged views on coordinated approaches to accelerate development projects while safeguarding communities from insecurity and substance abuse.

Mr Toroitich underscored the need for unity among leaders, noting that effective collaboration is critical in tackling cross-cutting issues affecting the county.

The leaders resolved to intensify joint efforts with security agencies and community structures to curb the proliferation of illicit brews and narcotics, while fast-tracking development programmes to improve livelihoods across Elgeyo Marakwet.
