Dr Reuben Kigame Visits Alendu SDA Church, Kosele, Celebrates Growth of Grassroots Ministry
Presidential aspirant Dr Reuben Kigame today spent part of his day in Homabay County at Alendu SDA Church in Kosele, marking a joyful return to the countryside congregation after one year.
Dr Kigame praised the remarkable growth of the church’s ministries, describing the visit as deeply encouraging and spiritually uplifting. He noted that despite its modest size, Alendu SDA Church continues to demonstrate how faith, unity, and committed leadership can transform communities from the grassroots.
“It was a blessing to witness what God has done in this church over the past year,” Dr Kigame said. “The joy among the leadership, the choir, and the entire congregation was a powerful reminder that faithful service, even in quiet places, produces lasting fruit.”
During the visit, Dr Kigame joined the congregation in worship and fellowship and presented a small but meaningful gift—a music keyboard—to support the church’s growing worship department. The gift was warmly received by the church leadership and choir, who expressed gratitude for the support toward enhancing their ministry through music.
Dr Kigame emphasized the importance of strengthening worship and community life in rural churches, noting that such institutions play a vital role in nurturing values, hope, and social cohesion across the country.
“There is nothing as sweet as worshipping with the faithful in the countryside,” he said. “These are the spaces where authenticity, humility, and deep faith thrive—values our nation needs as we look to the future.”
The visit forms part of Dr Kigame’s ongoing engagements with faith communities across Kenya, reflecting his commitment to servant leadership, moral renewal, and inclusive national development rooted in strong community foundations.
