Mwalimu Reuben Kigame Visits Busia County, Pays Tribute to the Bereaved and Empowers Persons with Disabilities
Presidential aspirant Dr. Reuben Kigame today made a significant visit to Busia County, where he offered comfort to a grieving family, shared a message of spiritual renewal, and reaffirmed his deep commitment to empowering vulnerable communities across the nation.
Dr. Kigame attended the funeral service of Mama Mariam Akumu, the beloved wife of the late Benedictus Wesonga, held at Bukhwaku Village in Bumala. In his condolence message, he described Mama Mariam as a matriarch of strength and grace, offering prayers and comfort to the family and local community. He emphasized the value of honouring those who have gone before us by living lives rooted in compassion, justice, and service.
Following the burial, Dr. Kigame addressed congregants at Christian Teaching Ministry (CTM) in Murumba, Butula Sub-County, where he preached from Galatians 5:16–26, urging Kenyans to walk in the Spirit and embrace the virtues of love, peace, patience, and self-control. His message was one of hope, restoration, and a call for national transformation grounded in moral conviction.
In a powerful demonstration of inclusive leadership, Dr. Kigame donated 20 wheelchairs to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)drawn from Teso South, Teso North, Luhari, and Ruambwa. The initiative, welcomed with heartfelt gratitude, underlines his unwavering belief that no Kenyan should be left behind.
“A dignified society is one where every citizenregardless of ability or background has the opportunity to live fully and contribute meaningfully. My leadership will reflect that dignity,” said Dr. Kigame.
This visit is a reflection of Dr. Kigame’s broader vision for Kenya, anchored on the foundational pillars of Utu (Humanity), Haki (Justice), and Maadili (Integrity). His presidential campaign is focused on dismantling corruption, implementing the Constitution faithfully, and building a just and inclusive nation where each citizen is empowered to thrive.
