Chepsaita Set for Biggest-Ever Cross Country Gold Label Event

Preparations for this Saturday’s Great Chepsaita Cross Country Gold Label event are in their final stages, with organizers expressing confidence that the third edition will be the most successful yet.

Race Director Barnaba Korir on Thursday toured the Chepsaita venue to assess readiness, confirming that all logistics, course markings, and supporting facilities are in place ahead of race day.

“We are fully prepared,” Korir said after inspecting the course. “The track is in excellent condition, the community is excited, and our athletes—both elite and upcoming—are set for a memorable competition. This edition promises to be bigger, more vibrant, and more impactful than anything we’ve hosted before.”

The 2025 event, guided by the theme “Run for Education,” is expected to attract elite international athletes, rising local talents, and hundreds of children participating in kids’ athletics. The theme underscores the organizers’ commitment to promoting access to quality education as a key pillar of community development.

According to Korir, the integration of kids’ races and community activities remains central to the event’s mission of nurturing future champions and using athletics as a platform to drive social change.

“Beyond the competition, our focus is on inspiring young people and emphasizing the importance of education,” he said. “This race is as much about opportunity and growth as it is about winning.”

Large crowds are anticipated as Chepsaita prepares to host athletes, families, sports enthusiasts, and local residents for what has become one of the region’s standout athletics events.

“We look forward to delivering an exceptional experience and welcoming everyone to Chepsaita,” Korir said. “Everything is ready for a world-class race.”

The starting gun for the 2025 Great Chepsaita Cross Country could mark the beginning of the event’s most memorable edition yet.
