In a heartfelt statement, the award-winning musician expressed deep gratitude to the organizers and fans for recognizing her contribution to Kalenjin music but said the recent wave of online negativity had taken a toll on her personal life.
“I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to the Kalenjin Music Festival Awards for recognizing my work,” Vicky Brilliance said. “However, due to the recent social media backlash and the negative attention it's brought to my personal life, I've decided to withdraw my name from consideration for this year's awards.”
