Uasin Gishu Opens Market Spaces to Traders in Major Allocation Drive

The Uasin Gishu County Government has announced the availability of 64 market spaces for traders in an effort to expand opportunities for businesses and promote organised trade across the county.

According to a public notice issued by the Department of Trade, Investment, Industrialization, Tourism, Cooperatives and Enterprise Development, the available spaces are located at Kapsaret, Ainabkoi, Kesses and Matharu ESP markets.

Eligible traders have been invited to apply for allocation of the market spaces for conducting lawful businesses within the respective markets.

Applicants must be legally eligible to operate businesses within the market and are required to obtain and complete the application form before submitting the necessary supporting documents.

The county government said applications will be made online, with traders required to submit their completed applications to the Directorate of Trade and Enterprise Development.

Completed applications should be downloaded, printed and submitted to the Directorate of Trade at KVDA 12th Floor, or ward offices, on or before Monday, September 14, 2026, at 5pm.

The county has cautioned applicants that submitting an application does not guarantee allocation of a market space. Successful applicants will be notified through publication of their names at the market noticeboard.

The initiative is expected to provide additional trading opportunities while supporting small businesses and improving access to formal market facilities across Uasin Gishu.

For further information, applicants have been directed to contact the Trade Department through the county's official communication channels.
