State Department Opens Mukuru Affordable Housing Units for Public Allocation Review
The State Department for Housing has announced a four-day public engagement drive at the Mukuru Affordable Housing Project in South B, running from 26th to 29th November 2025, to give Kenyans an opportunity to review their applications and explore available housing units.
During the exercise, officers from the State Department will be on-site to assist applicants seeking clarification on their registration status under the Boma Yangu platform. Individuals who previously applied but are unsure of their standing will be guided on any required corrections to ensure their applications remain valid and compliant.
According to the Department, units at the Mukuru site start from KSh 640,000, with monthly repayments from KSh 3,900, payable over a period of up to 30 years. The initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to expand access to affordable, secure, and quality housing for all eligible citizens.
The mobilisation drive underscores the strong leadership of Housing Principal Secretary Charles Hinga, whose stewardship has continued to anchor the Affordable Housing Programme on transparency, fairness, and public accessibility. Under his direction, the programme has recorded significant progress in opening up pathways for low- and middle-income earners to become homeowners.
Members of the public are encouraged to visit the Mukuru site for verification, inquiries, and guided tours of the units.
