Busia Finance Minister Douglas Okiring’ Heckled at Funeral After Mentioning Governor Otuoma’s Name
The burial of Musa Karani, a former aide to Kenya’s second President Daniel arap Moi, turned chaotic in Teso North when mourners heckled Busia County Finance Minister Douglas Okiring’.
Okiring’, who had been given a chance to address the mourners, was interrupted when he attempted to mention Governor Paul Otuoma’s name.
According to a video captured by Kenyan Report, the county official started his speech by telling the gathering that Otuoma had sent him with a contribution of KSh15,000 for the funeral expenses.
Before he could proceed, the crowd shouted him down, forcing him to cut short his remarks.
This isn’t the first time Otuoma’s aides have faced hostile reception.
In various public gatherings, attempts to deliver his messages have been met with heckling and rejection, pointing to growing dissatisfaction among residents.
Many have accused the governor of corruption, mismanagement of county resources, and neglecting key development priorities.
