Kilifi Deputy Governor Flora Mbetsa Chibule
The Kilifi County Government, in partnership with Amref Health Africa, today successfully concluded a free medical camp at the Kilifi County Referral Hospital, where 35 children underwent life-changing hernia surgeries.
The beneficiaries were identified and screened through the County’s Afya Mashinani initiative, which continues to play a critical role in expanding access to essential healthcare services across communities. All 35 children underwent successful procedures and have since been discharged in stable and good health.
Deputy Governor Flora Mbetsa Chibule commended the medical teams involved, noting the impact of the camp on vulnerable families.
“I had the honour of seeing off the children as they were discharged today. I extend my sincere gratitude to Dr. Kadivane Kigamwa, our County Paediatric Surgeon, and the entire medical team for their dedication. I also thank our partners, Amref Health Africa, for their unwavering support,” she said.
The Deputy Governor reaffirmed the County Government’s commitment to prioritising quality healthcare for all residents, especially children.
“As a county, we remain dedicated to strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring every child gets a fair chance at a healthy, bright, and promising future,” she added.
