The Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation, Eng. Eric Mugaa, today hosted a courtesy visit from senior officials of the Kenya Water Institute (KEWI) at Maji House, Nairobi.

The delegation, led by KEWI Governing Council Chairperson Hon. Patrick Musili Mbangula and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Leiro Letangule, PhD, EBS, briefed the Cabinet Secretary on the institute’s latest achievements and ongoing initiatives. Among the key updates was the announcement of KEWI’s upcoming graduation ceremony, set to take place on Friday, 28th November 2025.

During the meeting, the KEWI leadership highlighted significant milestones in training, research, and consultancy across Kenya’s water, sanitation, and irrigation sectors. These advancements, they noted, are central to national efforts to boost food security and expand access to clean and safe water for all citizens.

CS Mugaa commended KEWI for its continued contributions to sectoral development and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the institute. He emphasized that the partnership remains crucial in ensuring the production of highly skilled professionals to drive sustainable growth within the three critical sectors.

The courtesy visit underscored the shared dedication of both institutions to support Kenya’s long-term development goals through capacity building and innovation in water management.
