Boyd Were Clinches Victory in Kasipul Constituency By-Election


Agoro Sare High School, Kasipul — The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party is celebrating after its candidate, Hon. Boyd Were, was officially declared the winner of the Kasipul Constituency parliamentary by-election.

The official announcement was made at the Agoro Sare High School tallying centre, where supporters, party leaders, and election observers gathered to witness the final declaration. Moments after the Returning Officer confirmed the results, the venue erupted into celebrations as ODM supporters broke into songs and dance.

Hon. Were, who ran on a platform of community development, youth empowerment, and accountable leadership, secured a decisive win following a vigorously contested campaign. His message, which focused on revitalizing local infrastructure, improving education, and strengthening social services, is credited with resonating strongly across the constituency.

ODM leaders praised the victory, describing it as a reaffirmation of the party’s influence and grassroots support in the region. Supporters hailed Were’s win as evidence of a clear and consistent political message that captured the aspirations of the people of Kasipul.

“Congratulations on your victory! Your determination and clear messaging have led to this achievement, and you truly deserve it,” one supporter said moments after the results were announced. “Now it’s time to get to work for the people of Kasipul and all Kenyans.” ODM party chairperson  Gladys Wanga 

In his remarks, Hon. Boyd Were thanked residents for placing their trust in him and promised to embark on his development agenda immediately. He pledged to work closely with community leaders, youth groups, and national institutions to deliver meaningful change for the constituency.
