UEAB Holds 43rd Graduation Ceremony as Leaders Rally Behind Youth Empowerment and Innovation
The University of Eastern Africa, Baraton (UEAB), held its 43rd Graduation Ceremony today at its Main Campus in Baraton, Nandi County, marking a significant milestone for the graduating Class of 2025.
The ceremony was graced by the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury, Hon. FCPA John Mbadi, who served as the Chief Guest. CS Mbadi commended the university for its commitment to academic excellence and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to supporting the education sector.
“The government is dedicated to ensuring the country produces high-quality graduates by providing exceptional education to students,” CS Mbadi said. “This year’s national budget reflects this commitment, with the education sector receiving the largest allocation. We will continue to strive for the creation of more job opportunities to align with the number of graduates we produce.”
CS Mbadi congratulated the graduates, encouraging them to lead with integrity, innovation, and service to the nation.
The graduation was attended by several dignitaries, including Nandi Governor H.E. Stephen Sang, Senator Samson Kiprotich Cherargei, Tinderet MP Hon. Julius Kibiwot, Speaker of Nandi County Assembly, university leadership, faculty, and families of the graduates.
Governor Sang extended his heartfelt congratulations to the graduating class, urging them to use their knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to the country’s development.
“May the knowledge, skills, and values you have acquired guide you in shaping our economy through innovation, leadership, and service,” Governor Sang stated. “Congratulations to all graduates for your hard work and resilience.”
Senator Cherargei, who joined the celebrations, lauded the university for its academic standards and reaffirmed his support for youth empowerment in Nandi County.
“I was honored to join CS John Mbadi during this auspicious occasion. Congratulations to all the graduands—you are the future of our great nation,” Senator Cherargei remarked.
The event was a celebration of academic achievement, resilience, and hope for the future, as hundreds of graduates received degrees across various disciplines.
As the sun set over the lush Baraton hills, families, friends, and the university community gathered to celebrate a generation ready to take on the world with fresh ideas, bold visions, and a firm commitment to building a better Kenya.
