Drama at Embu Court After Murder Suspect Throws Witchcraft on Judge
There was drama and disbelief at the Embu Law Courts on Monday, August 11, 2025, after a murder suspect accused of killing a local businessman allegedly unleashed witchcraft on a presiding judge, leaving court proceedings in chaos and forcing an abrupt reversal of a ruling.
The accused, 41-year-old Simon Mugo from Runyenjes, had been arraigned over the killing of a popular trader in Kiritiri earlier this year. According to multiple witnesses, Mugo maintained his innocence from the start, claiming he had been falsely placed at the scene of the crime by police officers who were trying to protect one of their own.
Tensions were high in the courtroom as the judge read out a guilty verdict, despite what Mugo’s defence described as glaring gaps in the prosecution’s case. That is when, according to stunned onlookers, Mugo reached into his pocket, whispered strange words, and blew a fine powder towards the judge’s bench.
Almost immediately, gasps filled the room as the judge froze in his chair, unable to move. Attempts by court orderlies to help him stand proved futile, with some saying it was as though the seat had glued itself to him. Panic spread, and proceedings came to a standstill.to read more click here
