Pokot Boy Marks 10 Years in Music: MP Johanna Ngeno Celebrates Local Talent in West Pokot
Celebrations lit up Kapenguria town on Saturday evening as fans, local leaders, and residents gathered to honor one of West Pokot's most influential musical figures — Pokot Boy — who marked a decade of success in the music industry.
The colorful event was graced by Emurwa Dikir MP Hon. Johanna Ngeno, who lauded the artist for his contribution to the community and the cultural richness he has brought to the region.
“Supporting talents is one of the most impactful ways to nurture potential, unlock possibilities, and ignite dreams,” said Hon. Ngeno during his address at the celebration. “By doing so, we not only shape an individual's destiny but also contribute to building a society where every creative person feels valued, recognized, and empowered to thrive.”
Pokot Boy, known for blending traditional rhythms with modern sounds, has gained a strong following over the past 10 years. His music resonates with messages of hope, unity, and cultural pride — qualities that have made him a household name in the North Rift and beyond.
The MP emphasized the importance of investing in local talent and pledged to continue supporting initiatives that promote arts and culture among the youth. “Pokot Boy is a very promising artist, and we wish him continued success in his future endeavors. He has become an inspiration to many, and his journey reminds us all of the power of dedication and creativity,” added Ngeno.
The anniversary event featured live performances, dance showcases, and tributes from fellow artists and community members. Attendees expressed their admiration for Pokot Boy's resilience and the positive image he projects for West Pokot County.
