The annual Pacesetters Awards have once again shone a spotlight on trailblazers who are driving innovation, service excellence, and transformative leadership across Kenya. The awards, which recognize excellence across diverse sectors, seek to celebrate institutions and individuals whose contributions are reshaping industries and uplifting communities.

This year’s ceremony brought together leaders from the financial sector, healthcare, and public service, all of whom have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to creating lasting impact. The winners were applauded not only for their individual achievements but also for their broader role in inspiring progress and setting new standards of excellence.

Jijenge Credit Limited, under the stewardship of its Founder and Managing Director Peter Macharia Kamau, received the Pacesetters Award for Digital Credit Innovation. The recognition comes as a testament to the company’s pioneering role in leveraging technology to expand access to affordable credit and financial inclusion for thousands of Kenyans. By embracing digital platforms, Jijenge has made borrowing more accessible, transparent, and efficient for both individuals and businesses.

In the medical field, the Texas Cancer Center, led by Dr. Catherine Nyongesa, was honored with the Pacesetters Award for Specialized Medical Services. The facility has distinguished itself as a regional leader in cancer care, offering world-class treatment and providing hope to patients battling one of the most pressing health challenges of our time. Dr. Nyongesa’s leadership has been instrumental in positioning the center as a beacon of hope for families across Kenya and the wider East African region.

Similarly, the Westlands Laser Eye Hospital, headed by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Vhaibav Pednekar Mav, was celebrated with the Pacesetters Award for Quality Eye Care and Service Excellence. On the leadership front, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris was feted with the Pacesetters Award for Excellence in Women Empowerment and Leadership. She was lauded for her relentless advocacy on gender equality, social justice, and for spearheading programs that uplift women and vulnerable groups across the country.

The Pacesetters Awards continue to highlight the role of innovation, compassion, and leadership in shaping a better society. Organizers noted that the recognition is meant not only to celebrate excellence but also to inspire others to pursue impactful contributions in their respective fields.
