TENP Hosts HELB Delegation for Compliance Review and Partnership Talks

The Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) on Wednesday hosted a high-level delegation from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) for a compliance review visit and strategic engagement session aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two institutions.

The delegation, led by HELB Director Mr. Michael Lalampaa, included Vanice Moraa and Judith Koech, who were received by Chief Principal Dr. Charles Koech, OGW, alongside senior TENP officers.

During the visit, the HELB team conducted a comprehensive review of HELB fund utilization and compliance processes, while also exploring areas of mutual interest to enhance support for students benefiting from government-funded loan schemes.

The visiting team held in-depth discussions with key departments including the Office of the Registrar, Dean of Students, Finance, Human Resource, and Registry. The engagement allowed both teams to evaluate existing systems, identify areas for improvement, and share ideas for future partnerships.

“We were pleased to host the HELB team and appreciate their commitment to ensuring financial accountability and student support across institutions,” said Dr. Charles Koech. “At TENP, we are committed to upholding transparency in fund management while ensuring our students continue to access the financial support they need to succeed.”

The meeting also explored potential areas of collaboration, including student financial literacy programs, data sharing for improved service delivery, and enhanced mechanisms for loan recovery and tracking.

The visit was part of HELB’s ongoing efforts to promote institutional compliance, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen stakeholder relationships within Kenya’s higher education ecosystem.
