Ambassador Geoffrey Kaituko has successfully completed the Induction Programme for newly appointed Ambassadors and Consuls General, a key step in preparing Kenya’s diplomatic envoys for their new assignments across the globe.
The comprehensive training, which took place at the Foreign Service Academy from 3rd to 12th June 2025, equipped the diplomats with the essential knowledge, skills, and protocols required to represent Kenya’s strategic interests abroad.
Speaking after the programme’s conclusion, Ambassador Kaituko expressed pride in the opportunity to deepen his understanding of diplomacy and international relations. “It has been a remarkable journey of learning, interaction, and strategic preparation. I am grateful for the rich insights and diplomatic skills gained as we now step forward to serve Kenya with distinction in our respective missions,” he stated.
The induction covered a wide range of critical areas including Kenya’s foreign policy priorities, economic diplomacy, consular services, diaspora engagement, and public diplomacy. It also provided practical sessions on cross-cultural communication, protocol, and security considerations for diplomats serving in various parts of the world.
Ambassador Kaituko emphasized that the training has not only prepared him to represent Kenya’s interests effectively but has also instilled a strong sense of responsibility to promote Kenya’s image, attract investment, and protect the rights of Kenyans living and working abroad.
The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs has been keen to ensure that newly appointed envoys are well-grounded in the expectations of modern diplomacy, with a focus on expanding trade ties, enhancing international cooperation, and driving Kenya’s development agenda through strong foreign partnerships.
As Ambassador Kaituko prepares to take up his new posting, he reaffirmed his commitment to upholding Kenya’s values, fostering productive international relations, and delivering tangible benefits to the country’s citizens both at home and abroad.
His successful completion of the induction marks a significant milestone in his diplomatic journey, positioning him among the leaders charged with advancing Kenya’s interests on the global stage.
