In a determined effort to bridge the healthcare gap in underserved communities, the Joseph Waswa Foundation, in partnership with JW Health International Limited, has expanded its free medical and surgical outreach across four wards in Webuye West Constituency. The most recent camp was held Saturday at Kuywa Market in Sitikho Ward, drawing a large turnout from residents seeking medical attention.

The day-long camp offered an array of services including free surgical procedures, medical consultations, and drug dispensation, targeting residents who often face economic barriers to accessing quality healthcare.

Speaking to the press, Moses Wamoto, the event coordinator, reiterated that the initiative is strictly humanitarian and not linked to electoral ambitions. “This is a service to the people — a demonstration of our commitment to community welfare. Our activities are not politically motivated. We are here to save lives,” he stated.

Since early 2025, the Foundation has successfully conducted similar camps in three other wards, benefiting thousands of residents with critical medical care. The interventions have been especially crucial for vulnerable groups, including the elderly, women, and children, many of whom have long suffered from untreated conditions due to financial hardship.

Beneficiaries lauded the initiative, describing it as a lifeline in a region where access to healthcare remains a pressing challenge. “This camp has restored hope. I’ve been in pain for months, unable to afford treatment. Today, I leave here pain-free,” said Peter Wanyama, a local resident who underwent a minor surgical procedure.

The Joseph Waswa Foundation, widely recognized for its philanthropic work in education and youth empowerment, continues to cement its role as a catalyst for grassroots transformation through its health programs.

With plans underway to extend similar camps to more regions, the Foundation is steadily reshaping the narrative on community health access in Bungoma County.
