New Mukuyuni–Baharini Road Opens, Linking Mois Bridge to Ndabarnach for the First Time

Residents of Mois Bridge Ward are celebrating a major infrastructure milestone following the opening of the Mukuyuni–Ford Kenya–Baharini Road, a long-awaited route that now connects Mois Bridge directly to Ndabarnach.

The announcement was made by Mois Bridge Ward MCA Patrick Kimeli, who lauded the project as a historic breakthrough for local mobility, commerce, and access to essential services.

“Since the inception of Mois Bridge, this road simply did not exist,” said MCA Kimeli. “Today, we can proudly say that people from Mois Bridge can now travel to Ndabarnach using this new route. It is already fully graded and motorable.”

Key Infrastructure Upgrades

The newly graded road cuts through Mukuyuni and Baharini areas, connecting key villages that were previously isolated due to poor or non-existent road networks. The project is expected to ease movement for farmers, traders, and school children, especially during the rainy seasons.

According to MCA Kimeli, two critical points along the road have been identified for additional infrastructure:

“We shall be building culverts in two sections of the road to ensure proper drainage and long-term durability,” he said.

Community Impact and Progress

Residents of Mois Bridge and the surrounding areas have hailed the development as a game-changer, with many noting that travel times have been drastically reduced and market access has improved.

Local farmer Jane Chebet shared her gratitude:

“Before this road, it took hours to reach the market in Ndabarnach. Now I can get there in minutes. This road is already transforming our lives.”

A Step Toward Greater Connectivity

MCA Kimeli reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and infrastructure growth across Mois Bridge Ward. He emphasized that opening up rural roads is not just about transportation—it’s about economic empowerment, education access, and community upliftment.

“We are not stopping here. This is just one of many roads we aim to open and upgrade to ensure every resident of Mois Bridge Ward is connected and supported,” he added.
