Kirinyaga County Assembly Speaker Muteti Murimi has issued an inspiring Labour Day message, paying tribute to workers from all corners of the country and reaffirming the county’s commitment to dignity in labour and inclusive progress.
In a statement released earlier today, Murimi saluted workers for their resilience and contributions, highlighting both urban and rural efforts — from "the rice fields of Kirinyaga to the sugar factories of Western Kenya, from the offices in jiji kuu to the homes in mashinani."
“You embody the true spirit of determination and excellence,” Murimi stated, praising the collective efforts of workers in driving Kenya’s growth and development.
The Speaker called for a shared national commitment to upholding dignity in work, expanding opportunities, and ensuring that every citizen, regardless of background, has a fair chance to succeed.
“As we honor your efforts, let us also commit to building a society where dignity in work is protected… and every dreamer has a fair chance to succeed,” he said.
Murimi concluded his message with a hopeful vision for the future, emphasizing that unity and hard work are key to achieving national prosperity.
The County Assembly of Kirinyaga also reaffirmed its support for policies that promote fair labour practices and inclusive economic growth.
