The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has concluded an intensive in-house investigations training course in Nyeri County, aimed at sharpening the skills and competencies of its officers in tackling modern crime.
Speaking during the closing ceremony on behalf of the Director of Criminal Investigations, Mr. Mohamed Amin, Deputy Director DCI Mr. John Onyango underscored the critical role the Directorate plays in upholding law and order. He emphasized the need for continuous professional development among officers to keep pace with the ever-evolving landscape of crime.
“To effectively combat crime and deliver justice, our officers must continually embrace new knowledge, refine their skills, and adapt to the changing dynamics of investigation,” Mr. Onyango said.
He commended the participants for successfully completing the training, noting that it covered key areas including case file compilation, homicide investigations, crime scene management, land fraud, document examination, and examination of witnesses.
“I am delighted to note that this training has equipped you with advanced tools, techniques, and insights that will enhance your investigative expertise. I am confident that you will apply these skills diligently in your daily duties to uphold justice and protect the public,” he added.
Mr. Onyango reaffirmed the DCI’s commitment to offering regular capacity-building programs to ensure officers remain well-prepared and competent in the face of complex and emerging criminal threats.
The ceremony was attended by several senior officers, including the Director of CRIB, Mr. Dennis Okadapao; Director of Operations, Mr. Samson Kiptum; RCIO Central, Dr. Abraham Mugambi; CCIO Central, Mr. Fondo Birya; and the DCI Staff Officer Personnel (SOP2), Mr. Muriuki Raria, among others.
The successful conclusion of the course marks another milestone in the DCI’s broader strategy to enhance professionalism, accountability, and efficiency in criminal investigations across the country.
