This afternoon, Farouk Kibet, a close aide to President William Ruto, joined the family and friends of the late Mzee Philip Murei in Chemirot Village, Kimngoror Location, Kurgung-Surungai Ward, Nandi County, to pay his last respects and offer condolences.
Mzee Murei, a former officer of the General Service Unit (GSU), was remembered as a devoted public servant and a pillar of his community. His life was marked by integrity, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to national duty—values that he not only lived by but instilled in those around him.
“As we mourn the passing of Mzee Murei, we also gather to celebrate a life well lived and a legacy that will endure in the hearts of many,” said Farouk Kibet during his condolence message. “I pray that the family remains strong, united, and continues to uphold the principles that defined Mzee’s life.”
He extended heartfelt sympathies on behalf of the President and the broader leadership, assuring the bereaved family of their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
“Mutyo Missing,” Kibet added, invoking the local phrase of condolence, as he concluded his message of comfort.
Mzee Philip Murei is survived by his children and grandchildren, who continue to carry forward the values of service and humility that he championed.
