Western Kenya Rights Group Accuses Ruto Apologists of Defending Economic Policies, Urges Professionals to Speak Out
The Western Kenya Human Rights Watch has accused Professionals whom he termed Ruto's apologists now defending and justifying the bad economic strategies that threaten to plunge the County into a non reparable abys.
The Rights group Director Job Bwonya said the professionals had totally abdicated their roles and are hell bent disseminating falsehood on social media sites especially those in the opposition bastions.
"The don't care on "Ruto apologists" including Principal Secretaries, Parastatal heads, School Principals , ordinary Teachers in High schools including those who have retired are all over wooing people on social media sites to consider giving the President a second term in office", he said
This debate, he noted has intensified as Kenya navigates profound economic struggles, including heavy taxation, high living costs, controversial policy reversals, and significant public disillusionment.
The accusations against professionals generally manifest across several key sectors among them being misused by the Ruto administration led by blogger state House bloggers to cheat Kenyans into believing that the administration was being fought by the Opposition for implementing strict revenue-raising measures—such as new health and housing funds.
Mr. Bwonya accused the professionals of rationalizing policies that have worsened economic hardship for the public, despite official data often contradicting administration claims regarding job creation and economic outcomes.
He said top brains that were appointed to executive offices, state commissions were busy enabling administrative excesses.
He pointed to legal maneuvers surrounding the justification of state actions, police crackdowns during past protests, and controversial contract agreements as instances where professionals provide structural cover for actions that the public perceives as harmful to the nation's governance.
Vision News observed during various interviews that certain university lecturers, policy researchers, and political analysts had aligned their rhetoric with the ruling broad based government agenda instead of putting it to checks instead of playing watchdog after most opposition legislators decided to sleep with the oppressor.
Mr. Frank Wafula , another Kitale based land rights defender argued that these figures were busy lending intellectual legitimacy to divisive political narratives such as regional ethnic-based voting strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections instead of maintaining objective academic distance.
Public relations professionals and government communication teams are also facing heavy scrutiny for their framing of the nation’s condition.
"It is sad that for the Ruto administration to attribute public dissatisfaction and economic failure to "fake news" or political propaganda. It is a big shame seeing communication professionals coming with statements that are purely detached from the reality of daily life for ordinary Kenyans", Mr. Wafula added.
Industrialization Principal Secretary Eusebius Mukhwana strongly rejected the notion that these professionals are misleading the country, maintaining that professionally advising the state are managing a long-term transformation strategy aimed at stabilizing the economy and securing fiscal independence.
He urged citizens of Western Kenya to ignore critics and political opponents, whom he accuses of spreading misinformation, division, and an "agenda of negativity" solely designed to sabotage national progress.
"You cannot hate your country so much to the extent you want it to fail. Let us give the President another term in office to complete the projects he started and this Country will never remain the same", he said.
