Okwara Dumps Linda Mwananchi, Hints at Major Political Move Ahead of 2027

Nambale MP aspirant Kevin Okwara has announced his exit from the Linda Mwananchi Movement, saying he will soon reveal his next political move ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Okwara, however, clarified that he has not yet joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), despite expressing support for President William Ruto’s re-election bid.

Speaking on his political future, Okwara said leadership requires proper preparation, strong structures, networks and a clear strategy, arguing that political ambitions cannot be achieved overnight.

He compared political organisation to constructing a 20-storey building, saying having sand, steel and cement at a construction site does not mean the building is complete.

Okwara said President Ruto’s journey to State House was built over many years through political networks, relationships and strategic positioning.

He also dismissed social media popularity as a reliable measure of political strength, saying elections are ultimately decided by voters and strong grassroots structures.

“Politics is not won by noise. It is won by numbers, networks, structures, strategy, timing and the ability to execute,” Okwara said.

He added that some people who strongly criticise politicians on social media may not necessarily vote, noting that he sometimes wishes social media could serve as the ballot box.

Okwara's remarks have sparked speculation over his next political move, with the Nambale MP aspirant expected to announce his new political direction soon.
