Kaiboi National Polytechnic Welcomes First-Year Trainees as New Chapter Begins

By Wasike Elvis

The Kaiboi National Polytechnic has officially welcomed its new first-year trainees during an Orientation Day held at the institution, marking the beginning of a new chapter for students joining the institution to pursue technical and vocational training.

Chief Principal Mr. Abdi Kirwa Tiony led the institution in welcoming the new trainees to the Kaiboi family, encouraging them to embrace the opportunities that come with joining the institution and to make the most of their time during their training.

Tiony described the orientation as an important starting point for the new trainees as they familiarize themselves with the institution, its learning environment and the journey ahead.

He warmly welcomed the students, telling them, “Karibuni sana!” and assuring them that their experience at Kaiboi would extend beyond classroom learning.

According to Tiony, Kaiboi National Polytechnic provides an environment where trainees can acquire practical skills, discover and develop their talents, establish friendships and prepare themselves for their future careers.

He encouraged the new students to approach their training with an open mind and a willingness to learn, noting that every stage of their time at the institution would contribute to their personal and professional development.

The Chief Principal urged the first-year trainees to settle into their new environment and make use of the opportunities available to them. He encouraged them to ask questions whenever they need clarification, interact positively with fellow trainees and trainers, and explore areas where they can develop their talents and abilities.

Tiony emphasized the importance of practical learning, noting that the trainees' journey would include various milestones, from attending their first practical lessons to eventually achieving significant accomplishments in their chosen fields.

He encouraged the students not to be afraid of starting something new, but instead to remain committed and take every opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills.

The Chief Principal also reminded the new trainees that their time at Kaiboi would be an opportunity to build relationships and create memories that would remain part of their educational journey.

He said the institution would be part of the trainees' journey as they progress from beginners to skilled professionals, adding that their success would be shaped by the effort, discipline and commitment they demonstrate throughout their training.

The orientation comes as the new trainees begin settling into their respective programmes and adjusting to life at the polytechnic.

Tiony encouraged them to balance their academic responsibilities with personal development, urging them to participate actively in institutional activities and make constructive use of their talents.

He also called on the trainees to embrace the spirit of learning and collaboration, saying that their experience at Kaiboi should help them develop not only technical competencies but also confidence and relationships that can support them in their future endeavours.

As the new cohort begins its training, the Chief Principal expressed confidence that the trainees would take advantage of the opportunities before them and work towards achieving their individual goals.

He reminded them that every major achievement begins with a first step, and for the new trainees, that first step has now been taken at Kaiboi National Polytechnic.

“Your story at Kaiboi starts today,” Tiony told the new members of the institution, officially welcoming them and wishing them a fruitful and successful training journey.

The Orientation Day therefore marked more than just the arrival of new students. It signaled the beginning of a journey of skills development, talent discovery, personal growth and preparation for the future for the newest members of the Kaiboi National Polytechnic community.

As they embark on their programmes, the first-year trainees have been encouraged to remain focused, ask questions, build positive friendships, explore their talents and enjoy every stage of their journey at the institution.
