Tahmeed Express Grounds Bus Over Bedbug Infestation, Announces New Measures
Tahmeed Express has grounded one of its buses after a bedbug infestation was discovered, following videos circulating online showing the pests inside the vehicle.
The company said the infestation was identified on July 17, 2026, prompting the immediate evacuation of passengers to another bus.
Bus KCR 615 was taken out of service, its seats removed and the entire vehicle thoroughly sprayed and fumigated.
Tahmeed said the bus was only allowed back into operation after confirming it was pest-free.
The company has also announced tougher measures to prevent a recurrence, including more frequent fumigation of its buses, a ban on used bedding on all routes and plans to introduce seat-cover materials that are less likely to harbour bedbugs.
Tahmeed Express apologized for the incident and urged passengers to continue reporting hygiene and safety concerns.
“Your voice drives our standards,” the company said.
