Sudi Leads Tributes as Senior Sergeant Stephen Kiptoo Rono Is Laid to Rest in Kesses

 Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has led tributes to Senior Sergeant Stephen Kiptoo Rono, describing the late police officer as a disciplined, humble and dedicated public servant who made a lasting impact on the community.

Sudi joined Baringo Senator Vincent Chemitei, Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek, members of the clergy, family and friends for Rono's burial at his home in Ketiplong, Kesses, Uasin Gishu County.

Rono served at Langas Police Station in Sudi's Kapseret constituency, where the MP said he had known the officer for many years and developed a close friendship based on trust, respect and service to the community.

Sudi remembered Rono as a disciplined officer who remained calm during difficult situations and carried out his responsibilities with humility and dedication.

Beyond his police duties, Sudi described Rono as a kind neighbour and dependable friend whose character and service touched many people in the community.

The MP said Rono's commitment to his work and his interactions with members of the public earned him respect among those who knew him.

The burial brought together political leaders, members of the clergy, colleagues, relatives and friends, who gathered to pay their final respects to the fallen officer and support his family during the difficult period.

Sudi conveyed his condolences to Rono's family and mourners, praying for the late officer's eternal rest.

He described Rono as a “Shujaa” whose contribution would not be forgotten, saying his absence would be deeply felt by his family, friends, colleagues and the wider community.

Rono's death has also attracted tributes from community members who have remembered him for his professionalism, calm nature, friendship and dedication to public service.

As he was laid to rest in Ketiplong, mourners celebrated a life marked by service, humility and strong relationships with the people around him.
