Mary Maingi: Eight Bridges to Transform Connectivity Across Mwea
Mwea Member of Parliament Hon. Mary Maingi has reaffirmed her commitment to improving infrastructure and connectivity across the constituency, highlighting progress on five of the eight bridges being delivered to communities.
Maingi says good infrastructure goes beyond concrete and steel, noting that reliable roads and bridges play a critical role in helping residents access schools, healthcare facilities and markets while enabling farmers to transport their produce and communities to connect more easily.
The five bridges whose progress she shared are:
* **Karira Bridge**
* **Kiorugari Bridge**
* **Marurumo Bridge**
* **Kiumbu–Ndindiruku Bridge**
* **Kangiciri Bridge**
Each of the projects represents a significant step towards improving safety and easing movement for residents, particularly those who depend on reliable transport routes for education, healthcare, agriculture and trade.
The MP says the wider programme of eight bridges is aimed at strengthening connectivity across Mwea and opening up more opportunities for residents by making movement of people and goods safer, easier and more reliable.
“We are building for connectivity. We are building for opportunity. We are building a better-connected Mwea,” Maingi said.
The ongoing bridge projects are expected to strengthen links between communities while supporting local economic activity and improving access to essential services across Mwea.
