Gachagua Welcomes Nyandarua Woman Representative Aspirant to DCP

Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) deputy party leader Rigathi Gachagua has welcomed Wanjiru Wachira, an aspirant for the Nyandarua Woman Representative seat, as she steps up efforts to popularise the party at the grassroots.

Wachira paid a courtesy call on Gachagua at his Wamunyoro residence, where she briefed the former Deputy President on her activities and efforts to strengthen the DCP’s presence across Nyandarua County.

Gachagua said the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the party’s growth and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 10 August 2027 General Election.

He assured DCP aspirants of free and fair party primaries, saying the party would provide a level playing field for members seeking elective positions.

The engagement comes as political parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 elections, with aspirants increasingly stepping up grassroots mobilisation and party recruitment.

Gachagua said DCP was continuing to grow as it seeks to strengthen its political philosophy of listening to citizens and responding to their concerns.

Wachira is among the aspirants seeking the DCP ticket for the Nyandarua Woman Representative position, with her grassroots activities expected to form part of the party’s efforts to expand its support base in the county.

Gachagua said the party would continue engaging citizens and strengthening its structures as it prepares for the 2027 polls.

He concluded the message with the party’s slogan: “The future is Green.”
