Esther Passaris Leads From the Front in Charity Run for Vulnerable Cancer Patients
Nairobi Woman Representative Hon. Esther Passaris has once again demonstrated her commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society after taking part in the 3rd Edition of the Annual NCHI Charity Run, an initiative supporting vulnerable cancer patients.
At 62 years Passaris chose to take on the challenging 10-kilometre race, turning her personal commitment to fitness into a powerful statement of solidarity with families and patients facing the devastating impact of cancer.
For Passaris, the event was about far more than physical exercise. Every kilometre represented hope for patients fighting for their lives and a reminder that society must continue standing with those going through difficult moments.
Her participation reflects the Nairobi Woman Representative's compassionate approach to public service, where leadership extends beyond Parliament to directly supporting initiatives that touch the lives of ordinary Kenyans.
“Every kilometre was a step towards hope and a reminder that we can all do something to support those fighting for their lives, because cancer doesn't wait. Neither should we,” Passaris said.
Her decision to personally participate in the 10KM run also sent a strong message about the importance of leading by example. Rather than simply supporting the initiative from the sidelines, Passaris joined other participants on the course, demonstrating that meaningful leadership is about showing up for causes that matter.
She expressed gratitude to the sponsors and partners who made the charity event possible, as well as everyone who participated and supported the worthy cause.
The event provided an opportunity to combine fitness, community solidarity and humanitarian action, while drawing attention to the urgent needs of vulnerable cancer patients.
Passaris's participation further underscores her commitment to championing causes that promote dignity, compassion and support for vulnerable Kenyans.
At a time when cancer continues to affect thousands of families, her message was both timely and inspiring: every person can make a difference, and no effort towards saving a life is too small.
Her 10KM run was therefore not simply a personal fitness achievement. It was a powerful expression of solidarity, compassion and service — a reminder that when leaders step forward, they can inspire an entire community to care, give and act.
