Eldoret Ready to Host Kenya as Mashujaa Day Preparations Intensify

Eldoret is stepping up preparations to host this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations, with City Board Chairperson Alice Cheptoo Kositany joining leaders from across the North Rift for a high-level briefing on the national event.

The briefing was led by Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, as national, regional and local leaders reviewed the preparations ahead of the celebrations.

Eldoret will serve as the host city, while activities will extend across Uasin Gishu, Nandi and Elgeyo Marakwet counties, turning the occasion into a major regional celebration.

Kositany said staff from the City of Eldoret have been actively involved in preparations over the past several months, working alongside national, regional and local teams to ensure the city is ready to welcome visitors from across the country.

She described the hosting opportunity as both an honour and a chance for Eldoret and the wider North Rift to showcase their potential, culture, hospitality and development.

“Hosting Mashujaa Day is both an honour and an opportunity to showcase Eldoret and the wider North Rift,” Kositany said.

The celebrations are expected to place Eldoret in the national spotlight as thousands of Kenyans and invited guests converge in the City of Champions for the historic occasion.

With preparations gathering pace, Kositany extended an invitation to Kenyans to visit Eldoret and experience the region during the celebrations.

“Kenya, welcome to the City of Eldoret. Welcome to the City of Champions.”
