The Ministry of Interior and National Administration is mourning the loss of one of its longest-serving administrators following the death of Principal Chief John Ojwang Olem, a respected public servant whose career spanned more than four decades in Kenya's National Government Administration.

In a heartfelt tribute, Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo described the late Principal Chief as an exemplary administrator whose unwavering commitment to integrity, professionalism, and public service left an enduring legacy in Migori County and across the country.

Dr. Omollo said he had received the news of the chief's passing with profound sorrow, noting that the Ministry had lost a dedicated officer who devoted his life to serving the people of Kenya with distinction.

According to the Principal Secretary, Principal Chief Olem served the government faithfully for over 40 years, rising through the ranks to become the Principal Chief for Migori County. Throughout his career, he earned widespread respect for his calm leadership, sound judgment, and steadfast commitment to promoting peace, security, and effective public administration.

"Principal Chief John Ojwang Olem was an exemplary National Government administrator whose distinguished career was defined by integrity, professionalism, and selfless service to the people of Kenya," Dr. Omollo said in his tribute.

He noted that the late administrator's leadership extended beyond the execution of government duties, describing him as a trusted mentor who guided younger officers while strengthening collaboration between government institutions and local communities.

Dr. Omollo praised the late chief for his dedication to maintaining peace and fostering harmonious relationships within the communities he served, saying his wise counsel and unwavering sense of duty earned him admiration from colleagues, leaders, and residents alike.

The Interior PS said the passing of Principal Chief Olem represents a significant loss not only to the Ministry but also to Migori County, where he spent many years serving the public with dedication and humility.

As tributes continue to pour in from government officials and members of the public, Principal Chief John Ojwang Olem is being remembered as a disciplined administrator who embodied the values of public service and devoted his career to strengthening government administration at the grassroots.

Dr. Omollo concluded his message by praying for comfort for the bereaved family and eternal rest for the departed administrator.
