Governor Bii Joins Family in Search for Kenyan Woman Missing in Canada

 



Governor Bii on Thursday visited the family of Paul Tanui at Lemook Soko Village in Simat/Kapseret Ward following the disappearance of their daughter, Penina Jepkoech.

Jepkoech is reported to have gone missing after the vehicle she was travelling in allegedly plunged into the North Thompson River in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.

The governor said the county leadership was standing with the family during the difficult period as authorities continue efforts to establish her whereabouts.

“Today, I stood with the family of Paul Tanui of Lemook Soko Village, Simat/Kapseret Ward, following the disappearance of their daughter, Penina Jepkoech, whose whereabouts remain unknown after her vehicle reportedly plunged into the North Thompson River in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada,” Governor Bii said.

He added that the matter had been taken up with the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs to support efforts aimed at tracing Jepkoech and providing assistance to her family.

“We are following up the matter with the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs as efforts to establish her whereabouts continue,” he said.

The family has appealed for urgent intervention and prayers as they await communication from Canadian authorities and Kenya’s foreign affairs officials.

The incident has caused concern among residents of Simat/Kapseret Ward, with leaders and community members expressing solidarity with the Tanui family as the search for Jepkoech continues.
