Eldoret National Polytechnic Ushers in New City Campus Leadership in Major Change-of-Guard Ceremony
The Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) has marked a significant milestone in its institutional growth and leadership development following an official change-of-guard ceremony at the City Campus on Friday, July 3, 2026.
The ceremony, presided over by Chief Principal Dr. Charles Koech, OGW, brought together members of the institution’s leadership team, including Deputy Principal in charge of Administration Mr. Paul Seurey and Deputy Principal in charge of Academics Madam Peninah Ogutu.
The event underscored TENP’s commitment to effective governance, leadership continuity and smooth succession within its growing academic and administrative structures.
During the ceremony, Mr. Johana Suge formally handed over the office of Coordinator, City Campus, following his appointment as Deputy Principal in charge of Academics at Konoin Technical Training Institute.
Mr. Suge’s new appointment was celebrated as a major achievement, not only for him personally but also for TENP, which continues to produce leaders who are entrusted with key responsibilities in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.
In the same ceremony, Mr. Emmanuel Sawe officially assumed the role of Coordinator, City Campus. Mr. Sawe then handed over the office of Deputy Coordinator, City Campus, to Madam Angela Vwamula, who now takes up the position.
The transition is expected to strengthen leadership at the City Campus and enhance the delivery of quality training programmes to students pursuing various technical and vocational courses.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony, the chief principal Dr Charles Koexh emphasized the importance of teamwork, integrity, accountability and innovation in ensuring that TENP continues to meet the changing needs of learners, industries and the wider society.
Dr Koech expressed appreciation to Mr. Suge for his dedicated leadership and contribution to the growth and development of the City Campus during his tenure as coordinator.
He noted that his service helped strengthen the campus’ academic and administrative operations, while also contributing to the broader vision of making TENP a leading centre of excellence in technical training.
Dr Koech also congratulated Mr. Sawe and Madam Vwamula on their new appointments, expressing confidence that they will provide visionary leadership and work closely with staff, students and stakeholders to advance the institution’s agenda.
The new leaders have been urged to uphold the values of professionalism, discipline, innovation and service as they take on their new responsibilities.
The leadership transition comes at a time when TENP continues to expand its training programmes and strengthen its role in equipping young people with practical, market-driven skills.
As Kenya places greater focus on TVET education as a key driver of employment, entrepreneurship and industrial growth, institutions such as TENP remain central in preparing skilled graduates for the labour market.
TENP Chief principal reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing transformational leaders, fostering innovation and delivering quality, industry-responsive education that empowers learners and contributes meaningfully to national development.
