Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya Hosts French Ambassador in Strategic Talks on Development Cooperation
Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya this morning hosted the French Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Arnaud Suquet, during a courtesy call at his office in Kitale, where the two held high-level discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between Kenya and France.
The meeting focused on key areas of mutual interest including agriculture, trade, health, and sustainable development, with both leaders expressing optimism about deepening partnerships that can drive local and national growth.
Governor Natembeya noted that Trans Nzoia County remains committed to building strong international linkages that enhance agricultural productivity and open up new trade and investment opportunities for residents.
He emphasized that agriculture, being the backbone of the county’s economy, stands to benefit significantly from enhanced cooperation with development partners such as France, particularly in areas of modern farming technologies, value addition, and market access.
On his part, Ambassador Arnaud Suquet commended the county for its development agenda and reaffirmed France’s commitment to supporting Kenya’s efforts in achieving sustainable development goals through strategic partnerships at both national and devolved levels.
