Kassim Swaleh Foundation Boosts Education in Soy with Bursary Cheques for Needy Students
Several students from various institutions of learning received a major boost in their pursuit of education after benefitting from bursary cheques distributed through the Kassim Swaleh Foundation in Soy Constituency.
Speaking during the bursary issuance exercise, Kassim Swaleh reaffirmed his commitment to supporting education and empowering young people through access to learning opportunities. He noted that many bright and hardworking students are often forced to struggle with school fees due to financial constraints, making bursary programs a critical intervention in ensuring that no deserving learner is left behind.
Swaleh emphasized that education remains one of the most effective tools for fighting poverty, creating opportunities, and promoting sustainable development within communities. He said investing in students today is an investment in the future leadership and prosperity of the country.
“Giving back to the community through bursaries for needy students is one of the most meaningful ways of empowering future generations. Many students have the potential to excel academically but are held back by financial challenges. Through this support, we are helping them pursue their dreams and build a better future,” he said.
The philanthropist and community leader revealed that the initiative holds special significance for him because he personally benefitted from bursary support during his own educational journey. He recounted how financial assistance enabled him to continue with his studies despite economic hardships, ultimately shaping the person he is today.
The foundation gets support from personal contributions and well wishers who wish to give back to the society.
“Having experienced the positive impact of bursaries firsthand, I understand the difference such support can make in a student's life. That is why I remain committed to giving back and ensuring that other young people get the same opportunity to succeed,” he added.
Parents, students, and local leaders who attended the event lauded the foundation for its continued efforts to support vulnerable learners, describing the bursary program as a lifeline for many families struggling with the rising cost of education.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance, saying the funds would help ease the burden of school fees and allow them to focus on their studies without interruption.
The bursary initiative is part of the Kassim Swaleh Foundation’s broader commitment to community empowerment through education, youth development, and social support programs aimed at uplifting lives across Soy Constituency and beyond.
As the beneficiaries prepare to continue their academic journeys, the foundation hopes that the investment in education will nurture future professionals, innovators, and leaders who will contribute positively to the development of Uasin Gishu County and the nation at large.
