RUTO IS A GENIUS! Eldoret Activist Says President's G7 Invitation Signals Kenya's Rise to Global Power

Eldoret-based human rights activist Kipkorir Ngetich has strongly defended President William Ruto's participation in the prestigious G7 Summit, describing the Head of State as "a genius and a brainmaker of the century" whose leadership is rapidly transforming Kenya into a respected global player.

Speaking on behalf of the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy Eldoret, Ngetich said President Ruto's invitation to attend the high-level gathering of some of the world's most powerful economies is a historic milestone not only for Kenya but for the entire African continent.

According to the activist, the invitation is clear evidence that Kenya has earned international recognition through strategic diplomacy, visionary leadership, and active engagement in global affairs under President Ruto's administration.

"We wish to congratulate His Excellency President William Ruto for putting Kenya's image and the African continent on the international stage. This invitation is not accidental. It is a reflection of hard work, courage, determination, and visionary leadership. President Ruto deserves recognition for elevating Kenya's profile globally," said Ngetich.

He dismissed criticism surrounding the President's attendance at the summit, saying those downplaying the significance of the invitation fail to appreciate the long-term diplomatic and economic benefits that come with such international engagements.

"Those casting aspersions and attempting to demean this achievement are narrow-minded individuals driven by fear, selfish interests, and short-term political calculations. This is a moment that should unite Kenyans because it is about the country's future and international standing," he added.

Ngetich noted that international recognition by powerful nations and global organizations often serves as a catalyst for economic growth, diplomatic influence, and enhanced national security.

He explained that President Ruto's participation in the G7 Summit gives Kenya greater diplomatic legitimacy and positions the country among nations actively contributing to discussions on global challenges, including climate change, trade, technology, food security, and sustainable development.

"Recognition by global powers such as the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom, and other strategic partners validates Kenya's leadership role in Africa. Such engagements open doors to bilateral agreements, trade partnerships, investment opportunities, and stronger diplomatic relations," he said.

The activist further argued that Kenya stands to benefit significantly from increased foreign direct investment as global investors gain confidence in the country's stability and leadership.

According to him, international investors often look at a country's diplomatic standing before making major investment decisions. He believes President Ruto's growing influence on the global stage is sending a positive signal that Kenya is open for business and ready to compete in the global economy.

"When investors see Kenya participating in top-level international forums and being recognized by leading economies, they gain confidence in our market. This translates into job creation, infrastructure development, industrial growth, technology transfer, and improved livelihoods for ordinary Kenyans," Ngetich stated.

He said President Ruto's attendance at the summit demonstrates Kenya's commitment to engaging with the international community and contributing to solutions for global challenges.

Ngetich emphasized that in today's interconnected world, no country can afford to isolate itself from international partnerships and cooperation.

"Global influence matters. Countries that actively participate in international decision-making platforms have greater opportunities to secure development financing, negotiate favorable trade agreements, and attract strategic partnerships. President Ruto understands this reality, and that is why he continues to strengthen Kenya's diplomatic footprint across the world," he said.

The activist further described President Ruto as one of Africa's most influential leaders, saying his ability to lobby, negotiate, and build international alliances has distinguished him from many of his contemporaries.

He argued that the President's growing recognition by world leaders demonstrates confidence in his leadership and positions Kenya as a bridge between Africa and the international community.

"President Ruto's presence at such a prestigious forum elevates him to the level of global statesmen whose opinions matter in shaping international policy. He is increasingly becoming a leader whose voice is listened to beyond Kenya and beyond Africa," Ngetich remarked.

Drawing comparisons with Singapore's transformation into a global economic powerhouse, Ngetich said Kenya is on the right path to becoming a major economic hub under President Ruto's leadership.

He pointed to ongoing government efforts aimed at attracting investors, expanding infrastructure, promoting technology, supporting entrepreneurship, and strengthening regional trade as indicators of a broader economic transformation agenda.

"President Ruto has a clear vision for Kenya. He understands that economic growth requires strong international partnerships. His diplomatic engagements today are laying the foundation for a more prosperous Kenya tomorrow. The Singapore dream is achievable if we remain focused and united," he said.

The activist also praised the President's resilience, energy, and commitment to advancing Kenya's interests on the global stage despite criticism from political opponents.

He urged Kenyans to support initiatives that enhance the country's international reputation and create opportunities for future generations.

"We should not reduce such significant achievements to political sideshows. This is about Kenya's future, our economy, our youth, and our place in the world. President Ruto has demonstrated fearless, articulate, and energetic leadership that deserves appreciation," Ngetich said.

He concluded by expressing confidence that the President's participation in the G7 Summit will unlock new opportunities for investment, trade, innovation, and development, ultimately strengthening Kenya's position as one of Africa's leading economies.

"As Kenyans, we should be proud that our President is being recognized at the highest levels of global leadership. Such opportunities do not come every day. They reflect the trust, confidence, and respect that Kenya is earning internationally. The future is bright if we continue to embrace global engagement and strategic partnerships," Ngetich concluded.
