Kosgey Family Releases Burial Programme for Matriarch Ziporah Jerotich Kosgey

 



 The family of the late Ziporah Jerotich Kosgey has released the official burial programme following her passing, as friends, relatives, leaders, and well-wishers prepare to pay their final respects to the respected matriarch.

Mrs. Kosgey was the wife of veteran Nandi politician and former Cabinet Minister Henry Kiprono Kosgey, and the mother of prominent lawyer and KIPI Board Chairman Allan Kosgey, businesswoman Charlene Jepkemei Kosgey, and former Emgwen Member of Parliament Alexander Kigen Kosgey.

According to the family, a requiem mass will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Consolata Shrine, Westminster. The following day, Thursday, June 18, her body will be airlifted to the family's Kipkoror Farm in Nandi Hills, Nandi County.

The burial ceremony is scheduled for Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Kipkoror family farm, where she will be laid to rest in the presence of family members, friends, community leaders, and dignitaries from across the country.

The family has confirmed that President William Samoei Ruto is expected to attend the funeral service alongside a host of national and regional leaders.

Mrs. Kosgey's life was marked by devotion to family, faith, and community. Her love story with Henry Kosgey began in 1972 when he was working for East African Breweries Limited (EABL). At the time, Ziporah, fondly known as "Zippy" by family and friends, was a student at Kilimambogo Teachers College. Their friendship blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and the couple solemnized their marriage in 1973.

Over the decades, she stood firmly beside her husband throughout his distinguished political career while nurturing a close-knit family whose members have excelled in public service, business, and professional leadership.

As preparations for her final journey continue, tributes have continued to pour in from across Kenya, celebrating a woman remembered for her warmth, humility, strength, and unwavering commitment to her family and community.

Mrs. Ziporah Jerotich Kosgey leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and resilience that will continue to inspire generations.
