Detectives in Nakuru West have arrested a 52-year-old man following the circulation of a viral video in which he allegedly made inflammatory remarks and issued violent threats linked to the upcoming 2027 General Election.
The suspect, identified as Isaiah Murithi Andrew, is reported to be a self-proclaimed traditional healer and a speaker associated with a local “Bunge la Mwananchi” forum. His arrest was carried out in the Shabab area after investigators launched inquiries into the widely shared video clip that raised public concern.

Security agencies moved swiftly after the clip began circulating online, prompting investigations into the context and intent behind the statements.
Following his arrest, Andrew is currently being held in custody as detectives continue with interrogations and further investigations into the incident.
Law enforcement officials say the remarks triggered alarm due to their potential to incite unrest, especially at a time when political activity and early campaigning rhetoric are beginning to emerge ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order, warning that any form of incitement, hate speech, or threats of violence will be dealt with firmly under the law.
Authorities emphasized that freedom of expression does not extend to statements that promote violence or threaten national security.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing, and police have indicated that further action will depend on the outcome of forensic analysis of the video and recorded statements.
The arrest comes amid heightened efforts by security agencies to monitor online content and prevent the spread of inflammatory messages that could disrupt public order.
Officials have urged members of the public to exercise restraint when discussing political matters and to avoid sharing or amplifying content that could fuel tensions.
The suspect is expected to remain in custody as detectives finalize investigations before possible arraignment in court.
