KEBS Reaffirms Commitment to Smarter Regulation at SEKU Conference

The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting efficient, evidence-based regulatory practices aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing the ease of doing business in Kenya.

This came during the closing ceremony of the 3rd Annual Regulatory Authorities and Agencies Conference held at South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) in Kwa Vonza, Kitui County.

The conference brought together regulators, Government agencies, and other stakeholders to discuss ways of enhancing efficiency, streamlining Government processes, and improving services for citizens and the business community.

The event was officially closed by Felix Koskei, who underscored the importance of coordinated regulatory frameworks in supporting national development and fostering a conducive business environment.

KEBS noted that ongoing reforms under the Government’s Revitalisation and Reenergisation programme have continued to yield significant progress in reducing compliance burdens, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and enhancing regulatory predictability.

According to the standards agency, the reforms are helping create a more responsive and facilitative regulatory environment that balances public interest with economic growth.

KEBS further reiterated its dedication to supporting timely and transparent regulatory systems that encourage enterprise growth while safeguarding consumer safety and product quality standards across the country.

The conference served as a platform for stakeholders to share experiences, assess progress, and explore collaborative approaches to building a more efficient and citizen-focused regulatory ecosystem in Kenya.
